Paestum, is located south of the Gulf of Salerno and it is among the tourist destinations of Campania ‘s most admired and well known by Italian and foreign tourists; it is a major archaeological site in Europe. Living Paestum is enjoying one of the most beautiful landscapes of the South thanks to the sea formed extensive beaches of fine sand and clear, but also a natural landscape made even more fascinating by the typical Mediterranean vegetation. Knowing Paestum, ancient Posidonia, a Unesco World Heritage Site, it means taking a fascinating journey through history and art,  in an atmospheres of ancient Greece and Roman culture. A journey that starts from the archaeological admiring the grandeur of the three Doric temples, the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Athena and the Temple of Poseidon, situated in  the center town of Paestum, beautiful examples of archeology Greek architecture, comparable only to the Parthenon in Athens. In front of the archaeological area, there is the National Archaeological Museum of Paestum , which exhibits numerous artefacts found on the adjacent site, such as: vases, statues, coins, jewelry, plates painted with decoration of burial sites, including the most famous Tomb of the Diver, the only example of painting of old Magna Graecia. During the months of July and August, you can attend numerous events and performances of different types. Among them: the Paestum Festival, dedicated to music and dance, and the Premio Charlot, a cabaret show starring famous national and international artists. The traditional products that the territory offers are: the DOP buffalo mozzarella, artichokes and olive oil, the pride of the Cilento region.
